गोविंद दामोदर स्तोत्र :-
अग्रे कुरूनाम् अथ पाण्डवानां दुःशासनेनाहृत वस्त्रकेशा ।
कृष्णा तदाक्रोशदनन्यनाथ गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
जिस समय कौरव और पाण्डवोंके सामने भरी सभामें दुःशासनने द्रौपदीके वस्त्र और बालोंको पकडकर खींचा, उस समय जिसका कोई दूसरा नाथ नहीं ऐसी द्रौपदीने रोकर पुकारा – ‘ हे गोविन्द ! हे दामोदर ! हे माधव !’ ॥१॥
श्रीकृष्ण विष्णो मधुकैटभारे भक्तानुकम्पिन् भगवन् मुरारे ।
त्रायस्व माम् केशव लोकनाथ गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
‘हे श्रीकृष्ण ! हे विष्णो ! हे मधुकैटभको मारनेवाले ! हे भक्तोंके ऊपर अनुकम्पा करनेवाले ! हे भगवन् ! हे मुरारे ! हे केशव ! हे लोकेश्वर ! हे गोविन्द ! हे दामोदर ! हे माधव ! मेरी रक्षा करो, रक्षा करो’ ॥२॥
विक्रेतुकाम अखिल गोपकन्या मुरारी पदार्पित चित्तवृत्त्यः ।
दध्योदकं मोहवसादवोचद् गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
जिनकी चित्तवृत्ति मुरारिके चरणकमलोंमे लगी हुई है, वे सभी गोपकन्याएँ दूध-दही बेचनेकी इच्छासे घरसे चलीं । उनका मन तो मुरारिके पास था; अतः प्रेमवश सुध-बुध भूल जानेके कारण ‘दही लो दही’ इसके स्थानपर जोर-जोरसे ‘गोविन्द ! दामोदर ! माधव ! आदि पुकारने लगीं ॥३॥
जगधोय दत्तो नवनीत पिण्डः गृहे यशोदा विचिकित्सयानि ।
उवाच सत्यं वद हे मुरारे गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
जिह्वे रसाग्रे मधुरा प्रिया त्वं सत्यं हितं त्वं परमं वदामि ।
अवर्णयेत मधुराक्षराणि गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
गोविंद गोविंद हरे मुरारे गोविंद गोविंद मुकुंद कृष्ण ।
गोविंद गोविंद रथांगपाणे गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
सुखावसाने त्विदमेव सारं दुःखावसाने त्विदमेव गेयम् ।
देहावसाने त्विदमेव जप्यं गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥
सुखके अन्तमें यही सार है, दुःखके अन्तमें यही गाने योग्य है और शरीरका अन्त होनेके समय भी यही मन्त्र जपने योग्य है, कौन-सा मन्त्र ? यही कि ‘हे गोविन्द ! हे दामोदर ! हे माधव !’ ॥
वक्तुं समर्थोपि नवक्ति कश्चित् अहो जनानां व्यसनाभिमुख्यम् ।
जिह्वे पिबस्वमृतमेतदेव गोविंद दामोदर माधवेति ॥

Kararavinde na padaravindam
Mukharavinde viniveshayantam
Vatasya patrasya pute shayanam
Balam Mukundam manasa smarami ||1.||
I meditate upon bal-mukund (baby krishna), lying on a bargad leaf. his hands, his feet, his face…all beautiful, delicate and pure like a lotus flower.
shrI kRiShNa govinda hare murAre
he nAtha nArAyaNa vAsudeva
jihve pibasvAmRitam etad eva
govinda dAmodara mAdhaveti ||2.||
"Shri Krishna! Govinda! Hari! Murari! O Lord, Narayana, Vasudeva!" O tongue, please drink only this nectar--"Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!"
vikretukama-khil gop-kanya
murari-paadarpit-citta-vruttih
dadhyadikam mohavashad-vochad
govinda damodara madhaveti ||3.||
Though desiring to sell milk, dahi, butter, etc., the mind of a young gopi was so absorbed in the lotus feet of Krishna that instead of calling out "Milk for sale," she bewilderedly said, "Govinda!", Damodara!", and "Madhava!"
gruhe gruhe gopa-vadhu-kadambah
sarve militva samavapya-yogam
punyaani naamani pathanti nityam
govinda damodara madhaveti ||4.||
In house after house, groups of cowherd ladies gather on various occasions, and together they always chant the transcendental names of Krishna--"Govinda, Damodara, and Madhava."
sukham sayanam nilaye nijepi
naamani vishno pravadanti martya
te nischitam tanmayatam vrajanti
govinda damodara madhaveti ||5.||
Even the ordinary mortals comfortably seated at home who chant the names of Vishnu, "Govinda, Damodara," and "Madhava," certainly attain (at least) the liberation of having a form similar to that of the Lord.
jihve sadaivam bhaja sundarani
naamani krsnasya manoharani
samasta-bhaktarti-vinasanani
govinda damodara madhaveti ||6.||
o my tongue, by reciting krishna's names – govind, damodar, madhav; names that help the mind to focus, which otherwise is prone to distractions every second. by reciting the names of krishna, a devotee's pains (aart) arising from a distracted, blundering, blustering mind dissolve.
sukhavasaane idamev saaram
duhkhavasaane idamev geyam
dehavasaane idamev jaapyam
govinda damodara madhaveti ||7.||
This indeed is the essence (found) upon ceasing the affairs of mundane happiness. And this too is to be sung after the cessation of all sufferings. This alone is to be chanted at the time of death of one's material body--"Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!" nda! Hari! Murari! O Lord, Narayana, Vasudeva!" O tongue, please drink only this nectar--"Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!"
sri krsna radha-var gokulesa
gopal govardhan-natha vishno
jihve pibasvamrut-metad-eva
govinda damodara madhaveti ||8.||
O tongue, drink only this nectar (of the names), "Shri Krishna, dearmost of Shrimati Radharani, Lord of Gokula, Gopala, Lord of Govardhana, Vishnu, Govinda, Damodara," and "Madhava."
jihve rasajJe madhura-priyA tvaM
satyaM hitaM tvAM paramaM vadAmi
AvarNayethA madhurAkAarANi
govinda dAmodara mAdhaveti ||9.||
O my tongue, you are fond of sweet things and are of discriminating taste; I tell you the highest truth, which is also the most beneficial. Please just recite these sweet syllables: "Govinda," "Damodara," and "Madhava."
tvaamev yache mam dehi jihve
samaagate dand-dhare krutaante
vaktavyam evam madhuram su-bhaktya
govinda damodara madhaveti ||10.||
O my tongue, I ask only this of you, that at my meeting the bearer of the sceptre of chastisement (Yamaraja), you will utter this sweet phrase with great devotion: "Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!"
shrInAtha vishveshvara vishva-mUrte shrI devakI-nandana daitya-shatro jihve pibasvAmRitam etad eva govinda dAmodara mAdhaveti ||11.||
"Shrinatha, Lord of the universe, form of the universe, beautiful son of Devaki, O enemy of the demons, Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!" O my tongue, just drink this nectar.
gopIpate kaMsa-ripo mukunda lakShmIpate keshava vAsudeva jihve pibasvAmRitam etad eva govinda dAmodara mAdhaveti ||12.||
"Lord of the gopis, enemy of Kamsa, Mukunda, husband of Lakshmidevi, Keshava, son of Vasudeva, Govinda, Damodara, Madhava!" O my tongue, just drink this nectar.
