Jagjit Singh’s Amritanjali( An offering of nectar) is the second Album to be released in association with Kavi Narayan Aggarwal after Karuna . The Album is a fusion of traditional mantras with Bhajans by Narayan Aggarwal. There are five numbers in praise of Lord Shiva, Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Durga .A number each is dedicated to Hanuman and one’s Guru.

The last number is the popular Shanti Mantra from Upanishad- Om Asato ma sadgamaya…. ( From ignorance lead me to truth…..).The magic of Jagjit Singh is once more evident. The oft-repeated and powerful mantras of the deities are chosen blending with the simple http://lyrics. The chanting of Om Namah Shivaya is preceded by simple lyrics as Bhakton ki Hriday pukar rahe /Rom rom yeh bol rahe etc. Similarly the fusion of mantras for other deities with the attendant lyrics creates a blissful hearing experience.

The Mantras chosen are Om Sri Durgayi namo namah/Sri Ram Ramaya namah/Om Hanu Hanumate Sri Rama dutaya namah/ Vakratunda Mahakaya/Sri Krishnah saranam mam . The mantra selected in praise of Guru is the well known Gurur Brahma Gurur Vishnu… (The Guru is Brahma The Guru is Vishnu…..).The soothing compositions in synergy with the mantras that are used in daily prayers makes this Album a favorite for repeated listening.
